Papa John's

Papa John's, the third biggest pizza company in the world, has made its way to our shores by way of the Berjaya Pizza Company. Founded by John Schnatter in the '80s, Papa John's currently has over 2500 stores in North America alone, with outlets in China, Korea and India.

The first Papa John's in Malaysia is located at Berjaya Times Square and if everything goes well, this will be the first of 100 outlets planned for Malaysia over the next 10 years. It seems that the driving force behind Papa John's success lies in its tagline: "Better Ingredients. Better Pizza." What this mean is that there is a huge emphasis on fresh ingredients. In fact, you'll see that the word appears quite often in the brochures, menus and on the website.

Papa John's promises that their pizza dough is also fresh and never frozen and that their sauce is made from fresh tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and oregano amongst others. They also use premium mozzarella cheese. While that sounds like just talk, the good news is that it actually translates into the final product. Available in four sizes, the pizzas fall in either Classic (the Super Papa's is definitely recommended) or Specialty categories and are served on a wooden pan. They also come with pepperoncini peppers on the side, and a serving of their special garlic dipping sauce for you to dunk the delectable crust in.

Besides pizza, Papa John's also has items like pasta, baked pasta, baked rice, salads, calzones and more on their menu. They also deliver, but that is currently limited to the areas surrounding Berjaya Times Square.
